Penna — Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 20, 2026

The short version: Penna keeps your writing on your device. It doesn't collect your data, doesn't track you, and doesn't send anything to us or to anyone else. There are no accounts and no servers.

Who this covers

This policy applies to the Penna writing app for iPhone and iPad, published by Methodical Enterprises LLC ("we," "us").

What we collect

Nothing. Penna has no user accounts and no backend servers. We never receive your books, drafts, notes, or any information about how you use the app.

What stays on your device

Everything you write in Penna — your books, chapters, notes, and settings — is stored only on your device. This information never leaves your device except through features of iOS that you control, such as your own iCloud device backup or when you deliberately export or share your work yourself.

Analytics, tracking, and advertising

Penna contains no analytics, no third-party SDKs, no advertising, and no tracking of any kind. We do not build a profile of you and do not track you across apps or websites.

Children's privacy

Penna does not collect personal information from anyone, including children. It is safe for writers of all ages.

Keeping and deleting your data

Because your writing lives only on your device, you are always in control. Deleting the Penna app removes its data from your device. We hold nothing to delete, because we never had it. Please keep your own backups of writing you want to preserve.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page and post the new version here.
