Book Tracker: Lexi — Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 4, 2026

The short version: Lexi keeps your reading on your device. It doesn't collect your data and doesn't track you. We have no accounts and no servers, and nothing you write reaches us. The one thing that leaves your device is a book's barcode number, sent to look up its title and cover — and only when you ask for that.

Who this covers

This policy applies to the Lexi reading-tracker app for iPhone and iPad (listed on the App Store as Book Tracker: Lexi, and formerly named Lunara), published by Methodical Enterprises LLC ("we," "us").

What we collect

Nothing. Lexi has no user accounts and no backend servers. We never receive your books, reading history, notes, or any information about how you use the app.

What stays on your device

Your books, reading progress, notes, and settings are stored only on your device. This information never leaves your device except through features of iOS that you control (such as your own iCloud device backup) and the book lookup described next.

Looking up a book online

When you scan a barcode or search for a book, Lexi sends that book's ISBN or search words to public book databases so it can fill in the title, author, and cover for you:

Only the book identifier is sent. Your notes, reading progress, library, and any information about you are never included, and no account or device identifier is attached — the request carries no login and is made without stored cookies. These services have their own privacy policies and will see the network request, including the originating IP address, as with any web request. Lexi works without this: you can always add a book by typing its details in yourself.

Photo Library access

Lexi can ask permission to open your photo library so you can choose a photo to use as a book cover. When you grant this:

Camera access

Lexi can ask permission to use the camera to scan a book's barcode so it can fill in the title for you. Camera frames are processed on your device to read the code and are not recorded, stored, or sent anywhere. You can revoke camera access at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Camera.

Analytics, tracking, and advertising

Lexi contains no analytics, no advertising SDKs, and no tracking of any kind. We do not build a profile of you and do not track you across apps or websites. The only outside services it contacts are the book databases named above, and only to identify a book you asked about.

Children's privacy

Lexi does not collect personal information from anyone, including children. It is safe for readers of all ages.

Keeping and deleting your data

Because your data lives only on your device, you are always in control. Deleting the Lexi app removes its data from your device. We hold nothing to delete, because we never had it.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page and post the new version here.
